This textile work was inspired by "Senninbari" a belt sewn with a thousand stitches, which was a talisman given by women to soldiers who were sent to war and is considered a symbol of care and kindness. Sasha became interested in the "Senninbari" when she was exposed to Japanese culture in a previous project. This work represents her long distance communication between Finland and Japan, prompted by her online production activities, and people she has never met in real life. Through sacred objects such as the "Senninbari", she tries to explore how matter can gain immaterial meaning in specific situations.
